Ryanair launches flights to Plovdiv

The Bulgarians can now fly from Plovdiv to London's Stansted Airport for just 33 euro, as Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair has included the airport in Bulgaria's second largest city in its flight destinations. The first flight from Plovdiv to London is scheduled for November 2. Ryanair will carry out two Plovdiv-London flights a week. The airliner's management expects annual turnover of over 30,000 passengers. The new airline will also open thirty job positions.

Ryanair to fly to Plovdiv

No-frills airline Ryaniair will launch flights to Bulgaria but will initially land just in the second city of Plovdiv, said Ivo Marinov, deputy minister of economy, energy and tourism. Ivelina Grozdeva of the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association urged that the carrier should be allowed to also operate flights to Sofia, Bourgas and Varna. Plovdiv opens the first international Crafts Fair

Craftsmen from Bulgaria, Turkey and Greece show their skills during the first international crafts fair, which was opened yesterday in Plovdiv.
Participants will demonstrate hand techniques for glass, iron and copper articles, as well as jewelry, embroidery work, pottery, aroma soaps and etc.

The craftsmen who worked over the clothes and shoes for the films “Troja” and “Harry Potter”. A special exhibition “Violine majic”, will show the instruments made by the luthiers from Kazanlak.

Ryan Air will Fly to Plovdiv

Low cost flights to London and Frankfurt will start operating on Plovdiv airport from this autumn. Ryan air plans to schedule flights to Plovdiv this year.
The company is also considering flights to Dublin and several airports in Italy and Spain, announced Doichin Angelov, executive director of Plovdiv airport.

Flights from Plovdiv to Prague for 1 Euro

At least 5 municipalities have already voted the funds for the development of “Plovdiv airport”, as the southern gate of Bulgaria, announced the regional cousil Mr. Ivan Totev.

The first charter flight from Moscow arrives at Plovdiv Airport

The first charter from Moscow to Bulgaria’s city of Plovdiv will arrive at Plovdiv Airport on December 25. This flight will mark the opening of a new charter line operated by Siberia Airlines.

Plovdiv Airport will negotiate for the opening of a permanent line from Moscow to Plovdiv. Siberia Airlines opened a regular air line from Moscow to Varna after it performed charter flights during the summer.

Second Museum Night in Plovdiv

Plovdiv organizes a “Museum Night”, dedicated to the art, on 02 October for a fifth year in a row. The program is planned according to the ideas of all participants – 47 museums, galleries, clubs and town’s sites.

Plovdiv Airport New Terminal Opens 2 Months ahead of Schedule

The new passenger airport terminal of the city of Plovdiv will be launched on July 1.

The information was reported for Darik radio by Diana Hitova, manager from the airport's PR Department.

Hitova said that the airport terminal in Bulgaria's second largest city - Plovdiv, will open 2 months ahead of schedule due to the good partnership between the companies involved in the project.
